Backflow Prevention Devices
A Backflow prevention device is a valve that prevents contaminated or polluted water from a reverse flow into the main water supply.
Backflow devices are usually fitted to irrigation systems connected to mains water, commercial or industrial activity/machines connected to mains water, water outlets close to pollutants, chemicals or grease traps and underground rainwater tanks that have main water back up.
They are commonly found in properties such as Hospitals, service stations, apartment buildings, early childhood services, schools, accommodation facilities, sports facilities, restaurants, car wash services, laundrettes and more.
The Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 requires owners of a testable backflow device to register the device with the local government.
HPS are licensed with a backflow endorsement to test and register these devices. We have the approval to maintain testing, removal/decommissioned and installations/registrations of backflow devices and submit certifications to uphold local and government legislative standards.
Among this, our equipment is well maintained and is calibrated annually. Our team will inform you of your annual reminders, assisting with the owners responsibility requirements.
